All types of Kenya passports can be replaced through the High Commission upon fulfillment of the requirements set out below:
A: Replacement of an expired Kenya passport / or when passport pages get filled up.
Requirements
- The said passport (Original + 2 Photostat copies)
- A set of application forms (Download Form 19) duly completed.
- Three (3) recent passport size photographs (with WHITE background) of the applicant
- New Passport fee: With effect from 15TH JUNE, 2012
1. 32-page passport (Ordinary) – Ksh. 4,500/- or its equivalent in US Dollars
2. 48-page passport (Ordinary) – Ksh. 6,000/- or its equivalent in US Dollars
3. 64-page passport (Ordinary) – Ksh. 7,500/- or its equivalent in US Dollars
4. 32-page passport (Service) – Ksh6,000/- or its equivalent in US Dollars
5. 48-page passport (Diplomatic) – Ksh7,500/- or its equivalent in US Dollars
A minimum waiting time of between four andfive (4 – 5) weeks is required.
For a child born in Pakistan, documentary proof of claim to Kenya Citizenship at the time of birth is mandatory.
B: Replacement of Lost passport
Requirements
- Police Abstract with English translation
- Photocopy of the lost passport, if any
- Three (3) passport size photographs of the applicant
- Written explanation of the loss of passport
· A set of Kenya passport application forms (FORM 19) duly completed, Fee: Ksh12,000/- or its equivalent in US Dollars
A minimum waiting time of four to five (4 – 5) weeks is required.
C: Replacement of a valid Mutilated passport
Requirements
- Original passport (mutilated/spoilt/damaged)
- A set of Kenya passport application forms (FORM 19) duly filled
- Three (3) passport size photographs of the applicant
- Written explanation of the circumstances/incident that led to the damage of the passport
- Replacement of mutilated passport fee: Application fee: Ksh10,000/- or its equivalent in US Dollars
D: Emergency Certificate (Emergency Travel Document).- Issued to a Kenya Citizen- ONLY for travel to Kenya.
If or when;- a passport is lost or misplaced and is unavailable for travel; OR a passport is expired/ not valid for travel and the circumstances are such that a replacement cannot be issued prior to the travel date.
Requirements
- Duly completed Kenya passport application forms (FORM 19).
- Three (3) recent passport size photographs of the applicant.
- Present the expired passport if available.
NB: If the passport is lost/ misplaced, provide its details i.e. passport number, date of issue and place of issue, a police report/abstract, and affidavit of loss. - Documentary support/Proof of Kenyan citizenship.
- Issued immediately to a Kenya citizen upon application and payment of fee: USD 20.
